It’s not too late to participate in MIPS! The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) requires the majority of providers to participate in the new Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) this year, to avoid a negative 4% adjustment to their 2019 Medicare Part B reimbursement. To avoid the penalty, practices must submit 2017 performance data before March 31, 2018, for at least *one* MIPS measure on *one* patient.
The 2018 MACRA Final Rule from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is expected in early November. Start planning now for 2018.
