Stroudwater Team Advises North Country Hospitals

There are as many types of affiliations as there are client needs, and Stroudwater is committed to finding just the right affiliation structure to keep healthcare strong and sustainable for residents of rural communities.

The four hospitals recently signed an agreement creating a common, nonprofit parent corporation; each will cede some programmatic autonomy to the parent, but otherwise, the hospitals will remain independent and their operations will stay largely the same. Don Horstkotte, Stroudwater Principal, and Eric Shell, Stroudwater Director and Rural Team leader, advised the team that included Androscoggin Valley Hospital, Littleton Regional Healthcare, Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital, and Weeks Medical Center.

The new organization is specifically created to take advantage of economies of scale and expertise and to create a network contracting capability, with the goal to improve quality, increase efficiencies and lower cost of health care delivery in the region. We will be better together, says CEO Warren West of New Hampshire’s Littleton Regional Healthcare.
