Shad Ritchie is an experienced healthcare leader with proven outcomes for patients, providers, and teammates. With a passion for helping patients navigate the healthcare system, Shad is driven to improve healthcare quality and the patient experience and to provide administrative guidance on the healthcare services needed within each community. He began his career in healthcare administration in 1996 at what is currently Advocate Health and most recently worked for Appalachian Regional Healthcare System (now UNC Health Appalachian), a rural health system in Boone, NC. He has also held positions at Dermatology Group of the Carolinas (COO), Atrium Health Medical Group OBGYN Division (Vice President), and NorthEast Physician Network / CHS Medical Group (Vice President), among others.

Shad brings his direct experience serving rural providers to Stroudwater’s team, where he supports clients in provider compensation design, ambulatory practice operation analysis, and affiliations and partnerships.

Shad is a Certified Medical Practice Executive and earned his Masters in Health Administration and Bachelors in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Fellow of the Medical Group Management Association (FACMPE).

Shad enjoys volunteering and serves his community as a Board Member of the Cabarrus County Free Clinic. In his spare time, he likes to exercise, travel, and spend time with family, including his three dogs.
