Zach Boser is a former hospital leader passionate about helping small rural hospitals navigate the sea of change in today’s healthcare environment. An expert in financial and operational analysis, Zach is drawn to the challenge of improving healthcare delivery for future generations through work with rural providers and their communities. At Stroudwater, Zach supports clients through services such as financial and operational analysis, strategic planning, and cost report review.

Before joining Stroudwater, Zach served as director of finance for Cuba Memorial Hospital, a 20-bed critical access hospital with a hospital-based 61 bed skilled nursing facility (SNF) located in rural Cuba, NY. In this role, he oversaw the implementation of two electronic health record systems and their integration at a health system level; supported affiliation processes with a larger health system that aligned financial and operational goals; implemented an EHR for the SNF to gain better optics on skilled nursing performance; streamlined operations and implemented cost savings in many back-office administrative departments to better conform with the shifting healthcare landscape; created an ‘admission team’ focused on reviewing referrals and tracking admissions that lifted census at the hospital’s struggling swing bed and skilled nursing units; and improved days cash on hand from single digits to more than 40 days while making myriad capital improvements.

Outside the office, Zach enjoys hiking, kayaking, cooking, winemaking, and technical analysis of financial markets.

Zach earned a BS in commerce with a specialization in marketing and a finance Minor from Niagara University and an MBA from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
